 “Get Thrashed” Screening dates announced:

Lars and Kirk both appear in the upcoming film "Get Thrashed," a documentary film about the rise, fall and impact of thrash metal, screening in San Francisco on July 14th and New York on July 25th.

"Get Thrashed: The Story Of Thrash Metal" will be screened in San Francisco on Saturday July 14 at 10:00 PM at The Roxie Cinema, 3117 16th Street at Valencia, with tickets available here. The New York screening will be on Wednesday, July 25 at 8:00 pm at Village East Cinema, 181 2nd Avenue at 12th Street. Tickets can be purchased here.

The film traces the rise, fall and impact of thrash metal; from its early years, through its influence on grunge, nu-metal and today's heavy metal scene. It is the story of the heaviest, hardest music of the 80s and early 90s as told by the bands that lived it, the fans and bands that grew up on it and by the artists that carry the “thrash metal” flag today.
Along with Lars and Kirk, the film features interviews with members of Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Exodus, Godsmack, Hatebreed, Testament, Overkill, Death Angel, Shadows Fall, Meshuggah, In Flames, Dark Angel, Strapping Young Lad, Stone Sour, Superjoint Ritual, Lamb of God, and many others. Music from Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Exodus, Kreator, Suicidal Tendencies, Ulysses Siren, Warning SF, and Pantera provides a soundtrack for the film.

The movie was directed by Rick Ernst, who has been a freelance and staff producer for MTV Networks for the past 10+ years. He has produced and written numerous shows including Headbangers Ball, 120 Minutes, MTV Cribs, 25 Loud (w/ Jimmy Kimmel & Jack Black).

"Get Thrashed" will continue to work the documentary circuit, so watch their site for more screenings including Cleveland in August and Belgium in September. At this point, there are no plans for a wider release.
